The images in Heaven are directed toward the mythology of the sky. We live between below and above, pulled down by gravity, rooted in the earthly and the known. Yet there are forces that rise without weight: dreams, love, the moment of dying. They belong to the sky too, not through gravity but through longing. The sky has always been where we place what we cannot hold.
